Questions and answers

What growers most often ask us, answered briefly. If your question is not here, call us — we would rather not guess on your behalf.

What is Allgrow made of?

Allgrow is a microalgae-based biostimulant made from living Chlorella algae. It is 100 % GMO-free and contains no synthetic additives. Alongside the plant hormones cytokinin and auxin it contains macro- and micronutrients, amino acids and vitamins.

Is Allgrow certified for organic production?

Not at present. Allgrow previously held KRAV certification, which has since lapsed. We have an application in progress for listing on FiBL's Swedish Input List. Until that is complete, Allgrow should not be used as an input in certified organic production.

How strong should the solution be?

It depends on the crop and growth stage. Most treatments of growing plants sit between 1.5 and 3 per cent. Seed germination is an exception where a higher concentration is used. See the dosage for your crop.

Can I use a higher dose for a faster effect?

No. Our own trials show that high doses do harm. In one tomato trial, ripe fruit per plant fell from 29 at 2.5 per cent to 7 at 4 per cent, which is below the control's 21.

How long before an effect is visible?

Little difference is usually visible in the first two weeks. From week three onwards it shows first in the root system, then in bud and fruit formation.

Can Allgrow be used in any irrigation system?

Yes. Allgrow works with ordinary watering, tractor sprayers, backpack sprayers, sprinklers, boom and mist irrigation, and drip irrigation.

Can Allgrow be used as a foliar feed?

Yes. Foliar spraying works well because the nutrients are taken up through both root and leaf. Follow the strength for your crop.

How should Allgrow be stored?

Dry, dark and covered between 15 and 25 °C, in the original container. Prolonged storage above 25 °C may degrade the algae mass and produce odour.

Is Allgrow hazardous to handle?

No. Allgrow is not classified as hazardous under the CLP Regulation. Gloves and eye protection are still recommended as ordinary hygiene practice in agricultural work.
